Madintech-Novatech: Positive outcomes

Mr. Alfred Marie-Jeanne, President of the Regional Council of Martinique
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Martinique, in collaboration with the Regional Council of Martinique hosted the Madintech-Novatech forum, from 19-21 June, 2007 at the Madiana’s Palace of Congress, in Martinique.
The exhibition brought together more that 200 participants, coming from the Caribbean, Europe, United States of America, and in majority from Haiti, Jamaica, Bulgaria, United Kingdom, Trinidad and Tobago and the Dominican Republic.

CAIC Appoints new President, Secretary

Ludwig Ouenniche, James Moss-Solomon & Nigel John
At the 52nd Annual General Meeting held on 8th June 2007, CAIC elected a new President, Treasure and Secretary. Mr. Nigel John, Immediate Past President of the Grenada Chamber of Industry and Commerce was elected President of CAIC. He succeeds Mr. James Moss-Solomon, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer of Grace, Kennedy & Company Limited of Jamaica. Mr. Ludwig Ouenniche, Past President of the St Maarten Chamber of Industry and Commerce was elected Secretary, while Mr. Audley Walker was reappointed Treasurer.

2nd UK-Caribbean Business Forum

The CAIC in collaboration with the CBBC and the Ministry of Trade and Industry of Trinidad & Tobago recently hosted the 2nd UK Caribbean Business Forum themed “Climate Change and the Caribbean Economy.”
Climate change in the context of environmental security is at the top of the international agenda. For a region of small island developing states the issue presents both a challenge and an opportunity. The Caribbean is at risk from food insecurity, energy insecurity, a water crisis, the costly replacement of physical and social infrastructure, new pathogens and a decline in biodiversity
