Ms. Carol Ayoung
Chief Executive Officer
CAIC’s Chief Executive Officer, Carol was formerly the Deputy Programme Manager, External Economic and Trade Relations at the CARICOM Secretariat and brings to the Association a wealth of experience in International Trade and Finance. Carol graduated with a BSc in Human Relations and Organisations from the Mona Campus of the UWI, Post Graduate Diplomas in International Relations as well as in Mass Communications and a MSc in International Finance and Marketing.
Ms. Barbara Atwell
Executive Secretary
With 26 years of working experience in the corporate sector, finance and tertiary education (UWI, St. Augustine). Barbara’s career has been wide and varied encompassing administrative, secretarial, marketing and public relations, strategic planning, supervisory, purchasing, budgetary control and planning and implementation of Conferences.
Ms. Candice Lawrence
Programme Officer
With over four (4) years experience in the areas of Marketing and Sales, and studies in Spanish for Business, Ms. Lawrence joins the CAIC team from a leading regional financial services organization. She brings her enthusiasm and creative and is presently pursuing her LCCI Diploma in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations.
Mr. Mario Romany
Trade Policy Officer
Mr. Mario Romany has been employed with the Caribbean Association Industry and Commerce (CAIC) as a Trade Policy Officer for the past 10 months. Prior to working at the CAIC he was employed at the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Trade Promotion and Development Division. He has also been employed at the University of the West Indies, Behavioral Sciences Department for several years as a Tutor in several International Relations Courses. Mr. Romany has also lectured at the University of the West Indies as well The College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTATT) in Latin American Studies.
Mr. Romany has completed an undergraduate degree in Public Sector Management at the University of the West Indies; where he went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations as well as a Masters in the same. Currently he is pursuing his MPhil at the Institute of International Relations at UWI.
Mr. Courtney Lindsay
Trade Policy Officer
Courtney Lindsay joined the CAIC Secretariat in September 2008, and is currently serving as Trade Policy Officer with responsibility for Private Sector representation in areas inclusive of CARICOM-Canada trade relations, CARICOM-India relations, CARICOM-Haiti trade relations, Private Sector-CSME matters, as well as Private Sector relations with other non-governmental, governmental and multinational agencies.
He is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, Mona, where he received a B.A. in History and International Relations, and also the UWI, St. Augustine campus, Institute of International Relations, where he received an M.Sc in International Relations with Merit focusing on the topic “R&D, Innovation and Advanced Learning: Developmental Tools for CARICOM States.”
Mr. Franklin O. Morales
Intern
Mr. Franklin O. Morales is currently completing his Masters degree in Economics and International Trade from the “Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG)” situated in the Department of Guadeloupe.
He is a newly addition to the Caribbean Association of Industry and Commerce (CAIC) as an intern in charge of exploring market penetration strategies for CARIFORUM States and the French Departments of the Americas (FDA) in light of the recently signed Economic Partnership Agreement in order to enhance business cooperation and information dissemination between both parties.
